This morning, take a short walk through a tranquil Siem Reap neighborhood to learn about the local way of life before driving to Tonle Sap Lake, South East Asia’s largest freshwater lake with its size varying greatly depending on the season. A boat trip on the lake reveals rural Cambodian aqua-life as it co-exists with the seasonal floods. Later on, make a stop at Kampong Phluk village, built on stilts on the Tonle Sap and less touristic than floating village Chong Khneas. From there, your guide will offer an orientation walking tour to the village to get an insight of fishermen’s life, interact with local people, visit local school, pagoda… Later on, passing by the nearby flooded mangrove forests, the largest in the region.
